Dire
Straits-Brothers In Arms
Have
you ever found yourself listening to an album
that you first bought years ago, and haven't listened
to in a while? Did the memories of why you love
the band, and the album just come rushing back?
This happens to me every once in a while. Take
Kiss' Creatures Of The Night or AC/DC's
Back In Black.
This
time around it was Dire Strait's Brothers
In Arms. I have had this album since I was
eight years old in some form or another. Listening
to this CD tonight, the memories just came flooding
back. Not just the memories of "Money For
Nothing" - the very bad video-clip that was
very good at the time, but the memory of how much
I love this album. I remember when I first bought
it on cassette, I played it over and over and
over again until my dad threatened to throw the
cassette in the bin if I continued to do so.

| Lindsey
Lohan-A Little More Personal
I’m
never too sure as to what to expect from Lindsey
Lohan, but it wasn’t hard to guess in listening
to her sophomore album, that this was an attempt
for her to break away from the Disney Mold that
had been super imposed on her.
It’s a good attempt to do so, and in the
process allows the singer to also deal with the
angst of her father. The first track, “Confessions
Of A Broken Heart” sets the scene, as she
tries to deal orally with the stormy relationship
she has with her father. She picks that up again,
in “My Innocence”, when she states
that he took it away.

Miranda
Lambert-Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
Miranda
Lambert burst onto the music scene four years
ago, as one of the finalists from Nashville Star.
Since then she has not looked back. Her debut
album, Kerosene, peaked at #1 on the U.S country
charts and showed the world what she was made
of. Her sophomore album continues from there.
Yet again, Miranda pulls no punches with tracks
such as “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”, and
“Gunpowder And Lead” about hell-raising
and revenge.

Shrek
The Third
An
important aspect of any film is the music incorporated
into it. It’s often carefully selected to
suit the mood or theme of the movie. The music
selected helps to make it work, or in some cases
bomb. Shrek The Third mixes the old with the new,
as well as throwing in some impressive covers.
The
Eels kick off the soundtrack with “Royal
Pain”. A cute little ditty that has bounce,
it’s delivered in E’s recognizable
raspy voice. It’s not the first time that
the Eels have appeared on a Shrek soundtrack.
In fact, apart from Eddie Murphy, they are the
only band that has appeared on every soundtrack.
This time they appear twice, also performing “Losing
Steak”, which is another stellar performance.

| Megadeth-That
One Night: Live in Buenos Aires
That
One Night: Live in Buenos Aires was recorded
in Argentina in 2005, where Megadeth are considered
Demi-Gods. Coming out just before the release
of their new album, United Abominations, its
sole purpose may have been to give Megadeth fans
a taste of what was to come.
One
of the defining aspects of this concert at Obras
Sanitarias stadium is that Mustaine announced
during the show that the rumored demise of Megadeth
was indeed false. However, it would not be the
same band that would soldier on and release United
Abominations. The band would part ways with
bassist Jimmy Macdonough, recruiting Former White
Lion axeman James Lomenzo to take his place.
